Home Visits

If a visit is required, we arrange to see you and your dog in your home. This way we can see the problem 'first hand' Visits last between 2-4 hours and during this time we can assess the problem, and work with you to put together a programme that will work for you and your dog. It is important to continue working within the programme, but should there be any problems or queries, we are available, by phone or email.

Training classes – How to get the most from them.

What do you need to bring to class?

Vaccination Book

Your dogs' vaccination book should be brought along just for the first class.

Collar and Lead

A good collar and lead is important, and can make all the difference to how your dog will respond. Extending leads are no good for training, and we do not recommend using harnesses. We carry a stock of good quality collars and leads, and can advise on how effectively they can be used. If your dog is a 'puller' then we would suggest using a HALTI (a face collar) which, when fitted correctly, has an almost instant effect on both you and your dog. Again, we carry these in stock, and will ensure that your dog is fitted properly.

Treats

Treats should be small enough to 'pop' into their mouths quickly, rather than spend time chewing them! If your dog is prone to putting on weight, you can use some of their daily dried food, or alternatively, we recommend 'liver tablets' which are great for being on the move, and for quick responses! Again, we carry tubs of these, and they can be bought on the day.

'POOP' Bags

Everyone should carry bags, 'just in case' and it is the responsibility of the owners to clean up after their dogs.

Water

You should have fresh water available for after class, your dog (and you) may need it!

Appropriate footwear

Flip Flops and heels are not ideal for training. A good pair of trainers are better, and less likely to cause an accident to you or your dog!

What to wear

You need to be comfortable when working with your dog so loose clothing is preferable. Should the weather be cold or wet, we still have the classes so keeping a jacket or raincoat in the car is a good idea.

Handbags

It is impossible to work with your dog holding a handbag, all you need when training is something to put your treats in. If you do bring one, please ensure you LOCK your car with your handbag inside.
